Application Screening Process:

All received application packets are screened by the Human Resources Department for timely submittal and completion. Complete application packets that pass the first screening are then screened according to the qualifications to perform the duties of the job.

Applicant Notification:

The City of Redmond normally receives an extremely large number of applications for each open position; therefore, notifications are not sent to those applicants not selected for an interview. If you do not receive an email within 15 business days from the position closing date, it is likely you have not been selected for an interview.

Interview Process:

Applicants who are selected for an interview will be notified by email. If the interview process includes a skills test, and/or physical fitness test (police/fire), the applicant will be notified when invited for the interview. The candidate selected for the position will be notified by phone; other candidates interviewed will receive a notification email.

Pre-employment Requirements:

The City of Redmond is committed to providing a drug-free workplace and a safe and healthy work environment. A DMV/criminal check is required for all persons accepting a conditional offer of employment. To comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and DOT regulations, pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and review of driving record is required for those selected candidates currently holding a CDL. In accordance with the Immigration and Reform Control Act of 1986, employment is contingent upon providing acceptable documents to verify identity and authorization to be employed in the U.S.
