The 27th/Yew/Canal Roundabout is open! In case you have not driven through one recently, this section from the Oregon Driver's Manual will remind you of the rules (click here). Mayor George Endicott would like to remind motorists to use signals when exiting the roundabout. If you are cycling through the roundabout, there are several options. We have constructed ramps from the bicycle lane to a widened multi-use sidewalk to allow you to stay out of traffic. If you are comfortable riding in traffic, follow the same rules as a car, yielding to pedestrians in the crosswalk and vehicles in the roundabout. We have sidewalks and crosswalks on all legs of the intersection for pedestrians, but watch for drivers that may not be used to a roundabout in this location.

Business/Medical District Master Plan and Development Strategy |
|
The Redmond Urban Renewal Agency has hired a consultant to work with city staff, property owners and potential developers in developing a Master Plan and Development Strategy for the area surrounding St. Charles Medical Center. The goal of this effort is to stimulate investment and job creation in our community. This planning effort has been spurred by a recent update to the Redmond Downtown Urban Renewal Plan. As part of the update to the Plan, the Urban Renewal Agency has allocated $6 million over 20 years to support the development of a Business and Medical Employment District in the area surrounding St. Charles.
An initial meeting of property owners to discuss ideas for the district was held on January 10, 2012. The January meeting was used to develop objectives for developing future plans.
On April 4, a second property owner’s meeting was held. At that meeting, the consultants presented a market analysis describing the development potential of the area including preliminary recommendations for increasing the area’s appeal as well as initial design concepts. Property owners and other stakeholders provided feedback on the market analysis and design concepts.
