Message from Chief Tarbet

Welcome Citizens and Visitors:

I appreciate and welcome your interest in the Redmond Police Department and hope you find this website informative. As always, if you need information or services that are not available online, please contact Dispatch at (541) 693-6911 for non-emergencies or 9-1-1 for situations requiring an immediate police response.

The partnerships and friendships we have formed with many citizens, businesses and organizations are very important to us and I enjoy working together to resolve and reduce the issues affecting the quality of life in our community; reducing and preventing crime is always the priority for the police officers and our supporters. As a result of everyone’s efforts, we have enjoyed the reduction of many personal and property crimes in the city and have taken note of how wonderful it is. We must continue with a zero-tolerance philosophy towards crime and continue to work together to keep reducing crime and improve our community’s quality of life.

In the current economic times, the challenge for all government services is to provide the same level of service to citizens with less funding, staff, and resources. We are no exception and face the same challenges in the Redmond Police Department. In an effort to maintain our level of service we continue to seek alternative non-taxpayer funding, implement innovative ideas, and enlist the support from citizens and volunteers desiring to serve. Your suggestions and input for improving services are most welcome and solicited; after all, it is your police department.

The employees at the Redmond Police Department are some of the finest people I have worked with over the course of my career. Their desire is to perform their duties in a professional, fair, and courteous manner and to serve the citizens of Redmond. I invite you to get to know the employees, share your concerns with them, see them as friends and fellow citizens, and learn about policing through the Redmond Citizens Academy or come and ride-a-long. We also offer opportunities for volunteering in support of department efforts for teenagers and adults and invite you to join our team.

Sincerely,

Dave Tarbet

Chief of Police
