Mayor Endicott Names Jon Stark Redmond’s 2019 ‘Citizen of the Year’
- City Presents Stark with Key to the City

REDMOND, OREGON – During the State of the City presentation, held Wednesday, April 24, Mayor George Endicott presented Redmond’s ‘Citizen of the Year’ award to Jon Stark.  In honor of the award, Mr. Stark was presented a key to the city.

Jon Stark, Sr.  Director of Redmond Economic Development Inc. (REDI), was honored for his significant and long-lasting service to the community over the past ten years, making Redmond a better place to live and work.

The Mayor’s ‘Citizen of the Year’ award honors leaders and role models whose contributions to the community have made Redmond a better place.

“Redmond’s real strength lies with the quality of its citizen volunteers whose work builds social connections between government and its residents.  We have so many outstanding citizens, and honoring just one is always difficult,” remarked Mayor Endicott.  “Since late 2008, Jon Stark has made notable service contributions to Redmond, dedicating much of his time, talent, and passion to its prosperity.  As a direct result of his work, Redmond has realized unprecedented growth in manufacturing employment and as been instrumental in the recruitment of new businesses and air service to the community."

Previous honorees of Mayor George Endicott's 'Citizen of the Year' award were Eric Sande (2017), and Angela Boothroyd (2018).
