Art Around the Clock is an outdoor public art gallery designed to enhance the beauty and livability of Redmond. The collection of art is selected by a jury on a biennial basis.
At the end of 2 years, the Redmond community votes for their favorite piece and that art work is purchased by Redmond Committee for Art in Public Places and becomes part of Redmond’s permanent collection. All art pieces that are installed for Art Around the Clock are for sale and can be purchased at any time. Contact 541-923-7763 for more information.
About the Artist:
Mark has been a mosaic artist for over 15 years and has been showing his work and permanently installing commissioned work throughout the Northwest. Mark is also a published author of a well-respected how-to book on exterior mosaics. His knowledge of materials and techniques of exterior mosaics is extensive. Mosaics are an ancient tradition that when done correctly can last hundreds of years. Art in public places is meant to transform an emptiness into warm and inspiring places. Art gives identity to the space and the best art can leave the viewer with a feeling when they walk away. Mark believes that Lucky the dog can do this because of the intent of this work is to have the viewer consider “gratitude” and hopefully it will leave them with a sense of how they too are Lucky.
