The visual appearance of downtown Redmond was inconsistent. New curbs, decorative sidewalks and street trees are being placed in portions of the downtown core area in order to enhance the image of Redmond's downtown. This renewal project, mainly focused on 5th and 6th Streets, is augmenting and extending the existing downtown improvement program, with a focus on improvements to streets, sidewalks and intersections in the downtown core. Elements of this renewal project activity include a re-design of intersections, and construction or placement of new public amenities including, but not limited to, planting and landscaping, decorative lighting, bicycle racks and street furniture. 6th Street after the improvements is pictured above; before the improvements, pictured below.
Total Project Cost: $872,268
